To compliment my more comprehensive Juice for Life website newsletter recipe, here is a more simple, delicious and nutritious smoothie blend that just takes minutes to make and minutes to clean up. I recommend only organic ingredients.
Large container (mine is four cups)
Hand held (easiest to use and clean up) or counter top blender
To the large container, add
1/3 to ½ cup room temperature water
3 scoops Bulletproof Collagen Protein powder (you want this to dissolve in the water before adding other ingredients to avoid having it turn into lumps). You can assist the dissolving with the blender or just wait a minute or two.
As alternative to the collagen protein sometimes I use 1-3 scoops of Hemp fiber rich protein powder as an alternative to the collagen protein.
Add the following ingredients in any order, then blend until smooth.
2 tablespoons nut butter (not peanut butter due to liver toxic aflatoxins and difficult digestion).
Spices: cinnamon, ginger, etc.
One whole raw egg (I’ve been doing this for years, never a problem with bacteria, and regarding cholesterol, whole organic eggs are good for you)
Berries: blue berry, black berry, strawberry, raspberry. You can do other fruit, although my belief is that you’ll get the most nutritional benefit from the berries. I often use frozen berries which gives the drink a more refreshing cool taste.
¼ cup organic sheep yogurt is my favorite.
Whole flax seed: 1 tablespoon (if you buy it already ground it is likely to be rancid).
Bulletproof Upgraded Octane Oil: 1 tablespoon.
Hemp seed hearts 1-2 tablespoons.
These are the ingredients and proportions that I like. Feel free to adjust for your taste and needs.
